Prince of the Lilies

Prince of the Lilies

Large 100 × 190 cm dry pastel drawing on paper by Pantelis Melissinos NYC 1981

He reached the sprawling garden of lilies and earthly delights.
“This is the realm where reality and imagination intertwine, the place where time pauses and the mundane world fades away,” he thought.

Moving gracefully among the flowers (his steps light and purposeful), an ethereal presence began to take shape in front of him—a spectral mirror of his innermost self, embodying both hopes and fears.

They embraced, danced, and passionately kissed—a duet of unity and discord—their movements a silent conversation that transcended words.

The lilies, like arms raised in the air, swayed gently in the breeze, their ethereal hands stroking his skin like whispers of untold passions.

Each step he took was a quest for answers within the labyrinth of his soul.

As the lights and shadows, the joys and sorrows, tried to balance each other out, his heart transcended the physical and touched the very essence of his being; a journey of self-discovery beneath the surface of consciousness.

In this garden of lilies and earthly delights, as the sun rose from under his feet, casting a golden glow all over the garden, he felt a profound sense of peace.

‘The Prince of the Lilies’ realized that love and answers were journeys to be experienced in flashes of insight within.
